NEW LEXINGTON, Ohio — Members and visitors gathered Monday evening at South Main Church of Christ for the second evening of the Spring Gospel Meeting of 2024.
Tom Sheppard, Elder at South Main Church of Christ, led the congregation in song.
Fred Townsend led opening prayer.
Terry Townsend, of New Concord Church of Christ, was again our guest speaker/preacher, delivering a powerful lesson including Judgment (2 Corinthians 5:9-11) the goal, to be pleasing to God and that all men will stand before Him one day and be judged
Terry also spoke of the story of Joseph and the transition of his life from prisoner to prosperity (Genesis 41). Terry said the life of Joseph is a man who went from rags to riches, the prison to the palace, a slave to being a supervisor, and Joseph’s service to Pharaoh, King of Egypt. The second half of the Book of Genesis, chapter 36 onward is devoted to Joseph.
We are not under the old law (Old Testament) today, but there are lessons from which we can learn, Terry said.
With God’s will, the third evening of the South Main Church of Christ Spring Gospel Meeting 2024 will commence on Tuesday, April 23 at 7:00 p.m. in the church building at 7 Smith St. in New Lexington.
