NEW LEXINGTON, Ohio — A painting by French artist Frederic Moritz August Retzsch, entitled “Checkmate“, was the focus of this morning’s sermon as delivered by Daryl Hurst, our guest preacher from Norval Park Church of Christ.
The depiction is of an arrogant Satan and a forlorn man, whereas Satan is gaming for the man’s soul.
Secondly, Daryl preached about a woman found to be caught in the act of adultery, and of Jesus asking “He who is without sin among you, let he cast the first stone.”
Finally, Daryl preached of Christ’s crucifixion.

Daryl has been kind to share the slides of his sermon.
South Main Church of Christ continues our efforts to offer live streaming video of our services in addition to our audio recordings and podcasts. We anticipate live video offerings sometime this fall, God willing.
