NEW LEXINGTON, Ohio — While God’s word is silent about any day being set aside specifically to honor our earthly father, there are many scriptures that teach us about fathers.
God reveals Himself in His word as our Heavenly Father.
The New Testament gives us a spiritual view of the relationship between Christ and God, His father.
Jesus obeyed and gave thanks to His heavenly Father as an example to us.
Examples of Godly earthly fathers in the Bible are Noah, Abraham and David.
Noah was faithful, brave and devoted.
Abraham was faithful, obedient and was the father of many nations.
David displayed repentance, self-examination and walked with God.
On this Fathers’ Day, we want to continue to love, honor and respect our earthly fathers.
We need to always pray to God, our heavenly Father, for guidance in leading and loving our families.
